Czech-American Scientific Society Meeting
On 24th-26th June, the fourth annual conference of Czech-American Scientific Society “The Comenius Academic Club” was held. While in the previous year, the hosting country of this meeting of significant scientists and experts were USA, this year the host was the University of Pardubice. The guests were invited to the representative precincts of the Dacicky House in Kutna Hora.
Some fifty significant personages of the Czech Republic and from abroad meet on a three-day session of the 4th annual conference, this time held in the Czech Republic (after the USA last year).
After the guests were welcomed by the Kutná Hora mayor Martin Stary, significant participants made a speech, among others Pavel Bělobrádek, deputy prime minister for science, research and innovation, Dana Drábová, president of the State Office for Nuclear Safety, experts of the Boston University, Medical School of Rutgers University, University of Pardubice and others.
The meeting was also enriched by the appearance of Milena Lenderová, who was recently awarded Magnesia Litera Prize for her book „Vše pro dítě! Válečné dětství 1914–1918“ (All for the Child! War Childhood 1914–1918). The activities of the Czech-American Society The Academic Comenius Club are focused on natural sciences and humanistic disciplines.
