Discover the UNESCO World Heritage

The photographic exhibition depicting a set of unique world monuments and natural areas protected by the UNESCO has been travelling all around the Czech Republic for almost twenty years. The exhibition Discover the UNESCO World Heritage stemmed from an authorial project of RNDr. Milena Blažková.

The project as well as the travelling photographic exhibition accompanied by erudite texts present the most beautiful places in the world and popularise central concepts included in the very successful Convention Concerning the Protection of the World’s Cultural and Natural Heritage, which was adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO in 1972. General public (children, students and youth) in the Czech Republic can get acquainted with the cultural and natural world sites that are included in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List. Thus, the issue of protection of nature and cultural monuments is interconnected interestingly with sustainable tourism. Last but not least, the project and exhibition also contribute to general education.

And what can you expect?

A part of the 15th jubilee year of the exhibition is devoted to the treasures of China, Tibet, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka and presents them to visitors of the Dacicky House with the financial support of the Central Bohemian Region and its project ‘Support of the Governor’. The showcases display beautiful original works of art from all around Asia such as Stone statue of Buddha (Kushan Empire – North India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, 2nd-3rd century BC), China cup with a monochrome dark blue glaze (China, 15th century) or Scroll picture of landscape in ‘blue-green style’ (China, 17th century).
